I work as a GP in Woolpit in Suffolk where there are not too many big hills. My youngest of four children is now nearly seventeen and my wife has very kindly agreed to release me for two weeks. I am delighted to have be asked by Charles to join this ride, and to raise money for such an important cause.

I see patients most days with bowel problems, from irritable bowel syndrome to inflammatory bowel disease and cancer or suspected cancer. The impact of bowel conditions is huge, both physical and psychological. Some of my patients are unable to leave home due to diarrhoea or faecal incontinence. Some struggle to function due to fatigue, weight loss or pain. Some find their life expectancy markedly reduced. I feel incredibly privileged to get on my bike while I still can, and support Bowel and Cancer Research.
