Patrick Casey Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. I’m raising money for Bowel & Cancer Research because I believe the research projects they support are very important and create a future free from bowel cancer or chronic disease.

In early 2018 a good friend and colleague of mine (Nigel Swain) was diagnosed with Bowel Cancer. Following surgery he learned the horrible news that it had spread from his Bowel to his lymph nodes and into his stomach.
Despite this he carried on working as long as he possibly could and just carried on being good ol' Nige, doing what he could for people and often without asking for little or nothing in return.
Even in the hospital he did his best to keep upbeat and was reminiscing and laughing about the good old days at work and with his cricket buddies right up to the end.
Alas in May 2018 this horrible disease took from us a lovely bloke and a warm-hearted pal from us all and most of all from his son Richard who I want to massively thank for letting me run in the 2019 London Marathon in Nigel's name.

I said in the hospital to Nige that I'd do this and I know I'll do it, because I know you'll be watching me on the way around (probably with a pint of Guinness in your hand) whilst I make it around the 26 miles.
Least I can do pal and hopefully I can raise some money so others don't have to go on without their friends and loved ones.

I would say to all that it’s a great cause, and your donation will help them achieve even more. Donating is easy, quick and secure.

Please share with your friends and family on Facebook and Twitter – and elsewhere – so I can reach my target and together we can help Bowel & Cancer Research do more. Thank you! Patrick Casey
