After accomplishing 19k through mud, ice water and electrocutions (oh and a few thousand pounds).... we are back for more! This time we will be doing a 5K Tough Mudder on the 24th March in London, as warm up to the Madrid Spartan Race which some of us on the team will be taking part in. Spartan involves a brutal 20km+ circuit with more than 30 obstacles that try to keep you from the finish line - taking place on the 5th May.

We will be running in aid of Bowel and Cancer Research - a unique charity funds research into finding cures for Inflammatory Bowel Diseases (such as Crohn's Disease and Ulcerative Colitis), Bowel Cancer, and functional gut disorders. They also aim to raise awareness of these 'unglamerous' conditions and put a stop to the poo taboo!

We all know someone living with bowel disease or who has possibly passed away as a result. In our team alone there are a total of 15 people we will think of as we run.

Bowel cancer is the UK’s second biggest cancer killer, taking lives approximately every 30 minutes - maybe this wouldn't be the case if people were more open about bowel symptoms? There are over 620,000 reported cases of Inflammatory Bowel Disease in the UK alone which can be debilitating and life threatening if not managed properly.

We want to support Bowel & Cancer Research to make research happen, so that cures for these debilitating conditions can be found - having visited the laboratories where all the research takes place and meeting the dedicated researchers, we are confident that with the support and funds, they will get there!
