Alex Pilgrim Thank you for visiting our fundraising page.

I was diagnosed with bowel cancer in May 2017 - not the sort of challenge I thought I'd have as part of my '60 Challenges in my 60th year'. However, I'm recovering from surgery and chemo and have returned to running. My running combat crew girls have been there for me every step of the way to my current level of fitness and recovery.

So, to celebrate my ongoing journey back to health and wellbeing, I came up with the mad idea that we could all enter an Ultra Marathon - called Race to the Stones. It is called the 'ultimate achievable ultra' so just a small matter of running and walking 100K along the Wessex Ridgeway on the weekend of 14-15th July 2018.

Our challenge will prove to each of us (Karen Hall, Zoe Blyth, Ruth Oliver, Jo Stoker and Jane Adams - my #combatcrew) that we are all capable of more than we think we are. And so we will push ourselves out of our comfort zones and cross the finishing line on July 15th, together, as a team!

We are raising money for Bowel & Cancer Research because we believe the research projects they support are very important and create a future free from bowel cancer or chronic disease.

It’s a great cause, and your donation will help them achieve even more. Donating is easy, quick and secure.

Please share with friends and family on Facebook and Twitter – and elsewhere – so I can reach my target and together we can help Bowel & Cancer Research do more. Thank you! Alex Pilgrim
