I started working at Bowel & Cancer Research in 2018 in the role of Regional Development Coordinator, which means I have the pleasure of looking after our network of wonderful volunteers, PhDs, funded researchers and community groups - i.e. universities, schools, golf and sport clubs, Rotary clubs and Masons lodges etc. - who support us in many regions across the U.K.

Part of my job is to assist them in their local initiatives and to grow our network of supporters by developing new fundraising and creating awareness opportunities across the country.

I am Masters degree educated, with a ten year history of fundraising and partnerships development experience in the Charity and Third Sector around Europe, Central America and West Africa. In my career, I was lucky enough to be able to work with fantastic organisations such as Denokin, Saiatu and Street Child which, despite coming from different sectors, all had in common the ultimate goal of improving people's lives and making a difference by using a very pragmatic and innovative approach.

This is also what caught my attention when I came across Bowel & Cancer Research. Its modern approach of investing in the best cutting-edge science in the U.K. by putting people at the heart of its research is what makes me proud of working here and I believe this is what distinguishes this charity and its remarkable impact from other similar charities. What I love most about my role is being able to create high value, long lasting partnerships and engaging with amazing supporters.
