I joined Bowel & Cancer Research in 2013 as the first Trust Fundraiser and really enjoy working as part of an ambitious and creative charity team, focused on a vision of a future where no one dies of bowel cancer or has to live with chronic bowel disease.

I am very committed to the voluntary and community sector and have worked within it for 25 years as a volunteer, senior manager and freelancer in a wide variety of roles in various sectors including community grant making in England and Wales, International grant making, homelessness, HIV and charities working with children.

My passion lies in enabling organisations to realise their true potential to support their beneficiaries to the fullest of their abilities. Before my role at Bowel & Cancer Research, I was Head of Grant Making for a major bank foundation and this gave me a very privileged overview of the sector, particularly that concerned with social disadvantage and gives me a unique perspective when working with Trusts and Foundations.

The Trust Fundraiser role is a fantastic job! I love working with the talented and dedicated researchers to share the innovative and cutting edge research work with Trusts and hopefully encourage them to provide grants to support our research work. With bowel research continuing to be underfunded in relation to the devastating impact of bowel disease on individuals, there is much work to do.
