Refreshing melon and king prawn starter: Gut friendly facts

This is an easy to digest, low FODMAP starter.

It’s been estimated that 1 in 7 adults suffer from Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), and, for some, a low FODMAP diet may be used to manage symptoms under the guidance of a dietician or nutritionist. FODMAP is an acronym which stands for Fermentable, Oligosaccharides, Disaccharides, Monosaccharides and Polyols. These are names for a collection of carbohydrates (sugars) that aren’t fully absorbed in the gut, which may trigger symptoms in those with IBS.

Unfortunately Christmas time can be particularly difficult when it comes to following this tricky diet, however with a little planning and preparation, delicious meals can be rustled up such as this King prawn and melon starter.
